Friend wants to upgrade her engagement ring from gold to platinum...is she wrong?
I have a friend who went ring shopping with her fiancee and told him that all that matters to her is that the band on the engagement ring be silver in tone...white gold, platinum, etc. Because she does not wear gold jewelry...at all.
Well, her fiancee purchased a beautiful 3 diamond (very high quality diamonds) GOLD engagement ring. He could not afford to get platinum due to the diamonds and did not want to purchase white gold for her because he said it may turn colors eventually. Though she's love's the stones and the ring initially...she now wants to pay (herself) to have the band upgraded from gold to platinum. She took her fiancee out ring shopping and she's buying him exactly what he wants for his wedding band.
Is she wrong? Is this a slap in the face to her fiancee?
Mind you, when she took him shopping she was trying to work with the gold and thought it would be a good idea if he got a gold band too...to match his. Nope he wanted platinum and he's getting platinum.
it is frustrating to let the guy completely pick the ring out, when you are the one that's wearing it. If she mentioned she wanted a silver look, he should have respected that. It seems that she is respecting him by taking him out personally. I totally understand her, as I would NOT want a gold band. If she is paying her own money, I don't see the big issue.
