The Clarity of a Diamond:
A diamond is judged by professionals on how 'clear' it is, and stone is then placed in a category.
FL, IF - these ratings are not defective or internally flawless represents the highest degree in this area. Such stones are extremely rare and therefore always very expensive.
VVS1, VVS2 - These values represent a diamond that only "very, very slightly included." "Including" means, in essence, occluded or cloudy. Includes diamond material or structure are responsible for the lack of perfect clarity.
Despite a word that sounds ominous, these gems are of very high quality. Defects can only just be seen under 10 x magnification.
VS1, VS2 - Very slightly included scores represent high quality stones. No defect is visible to the naked eye.
SI1, SI2 - Slightly Included jewelry contains defects that are visible under 10 x magnification and can only be seen by those with sharp eyes. Beyond having good eyesight, however, one must know what to look for. In general, experts do not notice much of anything.
I1, I2, I3 - These are the poor quality stones that you can look very nice. But have defects visible when one looks closely will reduce the brightness appearance of the stone.
The Color of a Diamond:
Beyond the degree of clarity, diamonds - though generally regarded as light or "white" - You can enter any of the hundreds of colors. Fashions change and at a time which could be considered a defect will be highly valued by the next generation. Color in a diamond is actually created by impurities that are mixed with carbon in the diamond structure.
A 200-carat blue diamond in the Smithsonian (the diamond hope), for example, is valued not only for its unusually large size. Its rare and pure color is also a significant factor.
Blue, pink and yellow are the most common colors found in the ring of stones.
And the diamond is also considered colorless. Any impurities are found in small quantities detectable only by experts with special tools.
F are also graded colorless, but a slight color can be seen by an expert.
GH are nearly colorless. The experts can not detect some shadows if you look closely, but can still be high quality diamonds.
IJ Near colorless diamonds in the color is slightly detectable. He still has a very good value.
KM are stones where the color is very noticeable. Note, however, that these values are diamonds which are classified according to what little color they have. As a result, many find a very beautiful yellow diamond.
The important thing is that the color is uniform. Most people continue to believe that even a spot of color to a fault. Of course, that too is simply a matter of taste and some future trends may decide such diamonds are worth more.
The Cutting:
One factor that is difficult to classify in terms of price or quality is like the stone short. That's because in a very large extent, that cut is better is a matter of taste. A round cut can be as beautiful as an oval, a square cut can be so beautiful like a jewel princess cut (rectangular). Other common forms are the Marquise, pear cut, emerald, Trilliant (a wedge shape), radiant, cushion and heart shaped.
